Make a difference in your community and volunteer at the St. Charles Public Library. Volunteers from all ages, backgrounds, and skill sets support, supplement, and enrich the Library’s effort to serve our St. Charles community.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

Adult Volunteers

Our Adult Volunteer Program is open to persons 18 years of age or older. Volunteers work in a variety of departments assisting Library staff and enhancing library services. Volunteer must complete an application, with references and give written consent for the Library to conduct a criminal background check. Questions? Teen Volunteers

For teens in grades 9 – 12. Be part of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) at the Library!

 

Member can brainstorm ideas, provide feedback about Library services, and help prepare library program materials. The group meets on the third Friday of every month from October through May. Meetings are held from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.

 

Deadline to apply: August 15th – September 15th. (Applicants are notified after September 15th if they have been accepted.)

Middle School Volunteers

Are you a middle school student who wants to help at the Library? Middle School Volunteers help in Youth Services with a variety of tasks such as pulling books, refilling supplies, preparing for programs and sharing ideas, with opportunities to assist with special events. Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley

  • Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley: Volunteer tutors are paired with adults who want to read, write and understand English better. Tutor training workshops are help at the Library throughout the year. To find out how you can volunteer or how you can get help, call 630-584-2811 or visit lvfv.org.
